Our Story

Born From a Deep Calling

ZCCI was founded by Dr. Cosmas Zyaambo, a medical doctor and public health expert from Sinazongwe District, Zambia. Having witnessed first-hand the devastating effects of limited healthcare access, poor educational infrastructure, and economic exclusion in his home region, Dr. Zyaambo felt compelled to act.

After earning his MPhil in International Health from Norway and a PhD in Public Health from the University of Alabama, he returned to Zambia not just with academic credentials — but with a burning conviction that his people deserved better.

What began as a personal commitment to his home community in Sinazongwe and Gwembe has grown into a multi-program initiative touching lives across Zambia. ZCCI works at the intersection of health, education, and community development — because Dr. Zyaambo knows these are not separate problems, but one interconnected challenge.

What We Do

Our Three Pillars

Pillar 1

Healthcare Access

Access to healthcare should never depend on where you were born. ZCCI runs mobile health clinics that bring medical care directly to remote communities, reducing the burden of travel for the most vulnerable.

We focus on maternal and child health, disease prevention, HIV/AIDS awareness, non-communicable disease management, and tobacco and substance abuse outreach — areas aligned with Dr. Zyaambo's research expertise.

Pillar 2

Education & Scholarships

Education is the key to opportunity. ZCCI rehabilitates school buildings, trains teachers, and provides scholarships to bright students from underserved families who would otherwise be denied access to learning.

We believe no child's future should be determined by their postcode or their parents' income. Our scholarship program has helped dozens of young Zambians access secondary and tertiary education.

Pillar 3

Community Development

From clean water projects and economic empowerment programs to cultural preservation and infrastructure investment — we work with communities to build the foundations for lasting, self-sustaining prosperity.

We partner with local leaders to ensure every project reflects the real needs of the community, is locally owned, and creates lasting change beyond our involvement.
